Madcap Cottage Interview
I first heard John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon speak at the Digital Design Day in Atlanta about a year ago, and they made quite an impression. John and Jason are the dynamic duo behind North Carolina- and New York-based interior design firm Madcap Cottage. Known for their whimsical use of color and pattern, the Madcap gents scour the world for eclectic finds that capture their unique and gimlet-eyed viewpoint. Imagine a British country house that pairs Granny’s antiques and a spirited dash of Chinoiserie chic with a soupçon of Morocco-meets-India élan. In my head, they are my new best friends. You know: the ones that have impeccable taste, throw the most fabulous dinner parties and have you in stitches with their stories and witty anecdotes.
So, imagine my delight when I found out Jason and John designed a fabric collection for Robert Allen, now available at Calico. It's time to get to know these two a little better. I decided to submit them both to the Proust questionnaire, made famous by the renowned French author – and by the back page of Vanity Fair. They emailed me their answers while vacationing in London (of course!). Here we go:
