Let’s talk about measurements.

And, no, we don’t mean the measurements of our ever-changing waistline—that’s another blog altogether.  Rather, let’s discuss the value of having professional measurements taken by the incredible Calico team to make sure your fabric-driven design projects come to life beautifully and easily.

Think window treatments, for example. Why settle for off-the-rack curtains that don’t perfectly fit your windows? The Calico teams from coast to coast have the know-how to precisely measure your windows AND they also know which fabrics are exactly the right choice for the particular project at hand (remember, too, that Calico offers more than 10,000 designer-quality fabrics). Here’s how it works. Schedule an appointment with an in-home designer at your local Calico outpost and bring in ideas culled from magazines, Pinterest, and design books that inspire you. Snap some photos of the room where the project is happening to give the in-home designer reference points and design cues. If you’re considering window treatments, for estimating purposes, we’ll need to know the approximate window dimensions, number of windows, and ceiling height—plus any features we need to work around, like bookcases, shelving, radiators, French doors, and so forth.

Once you and the in-home designer have a plan in place, Calico’s professional installers will come to you and measure your windows before your custom-made window treatments are put into production.
